On Dec 2 1943 George A. Hinshaw Jr., born 1919 in Colorado, a resident of Elbert County, Colorado, enlisted at Camp Dodge Herrold, Iowa as a private in the U.S. Army. He declared he had two years of college, and was then married.⁷ George was unable to go overseas due to a vaccine reaction. He served as an Air Traffic Controler (ATC) in the U.S.⁸
