Samuel's obituary was published as follows:6
Samuel K. Taylor, retired farmer, died early Friday at the family home at 1412 W. Jackson St. Although he had been in failing health, his death was unexpected.
Mr. Taylor was born Jan. 8, 1860, the son of Valentine and Jane Sunderland Taylor, pioneer residents of this community. He moved into town 26 years ago from his farm home three miles northwest of Muncie.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret E., and one daughter, Mrs. Otto Heath.
The funeral will be conducted at the Meeks Mortuary at 2 p.m. Monday and entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Sunday.

The funeral for Mrs. Margaret Ellen Taylor, 96, 1412 W. Jackson St., who died Thursday at her home, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Meeks Mortuary. Rev. John Roberts of New Castle will officiate. Entombment will be at the Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
Mrs. Taylor had lived in Delaware County since 1882, and at the Jackson Street address since 1926. She was a native of Elwood and the widow of Samuel K. Taylor. A daughter, Mrs. Otto Heath, survives.
Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Saturday or before the services on Sunday.
