Del's obituary was published as follows:8
Sioux City - Delbert J. Henshaw, 78, 4522 Arthur St., died Friday at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. The Rev. Hidetoshi Tanaka of the Wesley United Methodist Church and Wally Racker, hospital chaplin, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the chapel.
A prayer service will be at 7 pm Monday at the funeral chapel.
Delbert Joy Henshaw was born July 22, 1902, in Sioux City, the son of Ira & Blanch (Yockey) Henshaw, and was a lifelong resident. He married the former Dorothy E. Hughes Jan 22, 1931, in Dakota City, NE.
For many years Mr. Henshaw was a butcher for Armour & Co. He retired in 1963 when the plant closed.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include the widow; one son, Anton [sic] of Lenexa, KS; two daughters, Mrs. Myron (Dorothy) Johnson of Onawa, IA, and Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Franklin of Holbrook, AZ; two brothers, Cecil D. Henshaw of Park Rapids, MN, and Marvin Henshaw of Spokane, WA.; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Newkirk of Venice, CA, Mrs. William (Vera) Perrett of Sioux City, and Mrs Lee (Iris) Fehrman of Otter Tail, MN,; and seven granddaughters.
