He married Jean Marie Zinkgraf, Dec 28 1946, Lincoln County, Washington.1,3,7  Jean, daughter of Oliver F. Zinkgraf & Marie C. Krause, was born Feb 2 1928, Washington.8,9,10  

In 2000-2002 Jim was living in Spokane, Washington.11,12,13

Jim's obituary was published in "The Spokesman-Review" (Spokane, Washington) on March 18, 2009:3

HENSHAW, James Allen Entered into rest March 2, 2009.  Jim was born to Marvin and Amanda Henshaw March 21, 1927 in Sioux City, Iowa.  The family moved to Spokane in 1936.  He attended North Central High School before joining the U.S. Navy at age seventeen.  In 1946 he married Jean Marie Zinkgraf.  Together they raised five children on a farm in the foothills of Mt. Spokane.  He graduated from Montana State College in 1952 with degrees in Animal Husbandry and Forestry.  Jim was employed by Armour Cattle Company and later became the head cattle buyer.  During his lifetime he owned and operated Henshaw Cattle Company and Henshaw Construction.  In addition he owned and managed extensive residential and commercial real estate properties throughout the Spokane area.  Jim was recognized for decades of service to Spokane Rehabilitation Services.  Jim spent many years with the family at their lake cabin on Windy Bay on Coeur d'Alene Lake.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends.  Later in life Jim and his companion Rita took pleasure in spending winters in warm Arizona.  Jim is survived by his children, daughter Catherine Slama (Ron), sons Robert (Anne), Daniel (Sharon), Douglas (Pat), and William (Tammy); sister Mary Jane Ollila (Willard); with 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Jim is also survived by his companion of 28 years Rita Day; her children Alan Day, Tammy Smith, L.G. Johnson.  Jim is preceded in death by his son John, parents Marvin and Amanda Henshaw, along with his brothers Howard and Edward Henshaw.  His friends and family will miss him very much and hope to be reunited in Heaven someday.  We would like to thank Hospice for the love they showed during the final days.  A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1 pm on March 21st, 2009 on what would have been his 82nd birthday at Mountain View Assembly of God Church, 633 E. Magnesium, Spokane, WA.  RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA.
