Ernest Lester Hancher
Ernest Lester Hancher, 90, Kansas City, MO, passed away January 17, 2007 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel, I-435 and Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to City Union Mission, 1108 East 110th St., Kansas City, MO, 64109. Mr. Hancher was born March 17, 1916 in Kansas City, MO. He was a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He worked for The Kansas City Star for over 30 years retiring in 1980. Ernest was an avid golfer and qualified for the U.S. Senior Olympics Golf Tournament. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks. He is survived by his wife Louise M. Hancher of the home; daughter Martha Jene Condron-Shockley, Lake Winnebago, MO; daughter Darlie Weaver of Oklahoma; and one grandchild Toby Ellis, Atlanta, GA. (Arrangements: Mt.
