Born Mar 24 1921, Morrowville, Washington County, Kansas.^1,2,3,4  (Probably named after his grandfather, Hennrich/Henry Ebeling).⁵  

As a teenager Marvin worked for his grandparents on their farm.  His grandpa Charlie would have a story to tell after supper each night.¹  

He married Lela Troxel, May 6 1941, Washington, Kansas.^1,2  Lela, daughter of Russel E. Troxel & Dora Cuthbert, was born Apr 26 1923, Endicott, Nebraska.^1,6  Lela had a twin sister named Lola (who died in 1976 in Denver).^1,6  

Marvin was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.¹  On Jan 31 1945 Marvin H. Hanshaw, born 1921 in Kansas, enlisted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas as a private in the U.S. Army.  He declared he had one year of high school, was married, and employed as a geographer.⁷  

Marvin and Lela lived and farmed in the Endicott area until 1955 when they moved and farmed near Diller, Nebraska.  In 1958 they moved to Beatrice, Nebraska.¹  

Lela died Jul 2 1978, buried Fairbury, Nebraska.¹  

In 1994 Marvin was living at 1014 Ella St., Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska.⁸  

In 2001 Marvin was still living in Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska.^2,3  

Marvin Henry Hanshaw died Jan 15 2001, Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska; buried Fairbury, Nebraska.^1,2,3
