Donald Lee Hinshaw DERBY - Hinshaw, Donald Lee, lifelong resident of Wichita, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003. Visitation 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Smith Mortuary, Derby; graveside service 1 p.m. Wednesday, Wichita Park Cemetery. Don was born at Wesley Hospital on Feb. 23, 1923 the son of the late Donald L. and Pearl (Hickey) Hinshaw. He was a 1942 graduate of East High School, Wichita and served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. On Nov. 22, 1948 he married Lois Ileen Carmichael in Colorado Springs, CO. Don took early retirement after 29 years at Boeing, where he was a supervisor. He started his own aircraft custom refurbishing company, Airlodon, in the early 1970's and then retired completely in 1986. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was also an avid sportsman and sports fan. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Wade L. and Barbara Hinshaw, Derby; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne L. and Richard Powell, Centennial, CO; sister, Gail Knight, San Antonio, TX; granddaughter and her husband, Sheri and Michael McKee and their children, Brynne and Kieran, Denver, CO; grandson, Nathan Hinshaw; granddaughters, Misty Pantle and Krystle Hinshaw and grandson, Cody Hinshaw all of Wichita. He is preceded in death by his wife and a son, Michael Hinshaw.
