Frances Marjorie Henshaw Gill

Gill, Frances Marjorie Henshaw A native of Lake Charles, Frances Marjorie Henshaw Gill, 66, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, in Baton Rouge.  Funeral service will be at First United Methodist Church, 812 Kirkman St., Lake Charles, at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10.  Visitation will be in the sanctuary from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Frances is survived by two sons, Gregory O'Jennings Gill and his partner, Robert Bruce, of Altadena, Calif., and Gordon Henshaw Gill and his wife, Susan Randall Gill, of Baton Rouge; two granddaughters, Katelyn Elizabeth and Megan Alyssa Gill, both of Baton Rouge; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Walter Roberts and Mary and Barcus Jernigan, all of Lake Charles, and Linda and Pete Catalano of Lafayette.  Frances was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and McNeese State University, where she was president of her sorority, Chi Omega.  Those who loved Fran knew her as a gifted interior designer, teacher and a talented oil painter.  She was a gracious hostess and homemaker, such fun to be with and so creative that she made every occasion a celebration.  Fran had a knack for bringing people together.  She was a treasured friend and counselor who gave strength to so many.  She adored literature and music, the finest and most beautiful in everything and everyone.  She was so proud of her sons and especially her beautiful granddaughters, "her babies."  It was her wish that the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans use her body to study Alzheimer's disease, which took her prematurely from her loved ones.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
