On Sep 9 1918 Jesse Vance Hinshaw, age 18, registered for the World War I draft in Atlanta, Georgia.  His residence was shown as 66 Walton St., Atlanta, Georgia.  He declared his nearest relative was Jesse Hinshaw of Randleman, North Carolina.  He was recorded as tall, slender, black eyes, black hair.2  

He married Kathryn Gibson Foster, Dec 19 1925, Trinity Methodist Church, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.5,6  Kathryn, daughter of Joseph Hancock Foster & Mammie/Minnie Lee Denson, was born Jun 18 1898, Flowery Branch, Hall County, Georgia.4,7,8,9  

Jack & Kathryn's engagement was announced in "The Atlanta Constitution" (Atlanta, Georgia) on November 8, 19256 (see scan below).  

Jack and family were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 5 1930), living with Catherine's parents at 118 Peachtree Hills Ave., Peachtree Hills, Fulton County, Georgia:5

Hinshaw, Jack V., son-in-law, age 35, born in North Carolina; parents born in North Carolina; first married at age 31; occupation: traveling salesman, casket co.; not a war veteran.
Hinshaw, Catherine G., daughter, age 32, born in Georgia; father born in Georgia; mother born in Alabama; first married at age 28; occupation: teacher, music, private studio.

Jack and family were shown in the 1940 census (Apr 25 1940), 2840 Peachtree Rd., Buckhead, Fulton County, Georgia:1

Hinshaw, Jack V., head-of-household, age 39, born in North Carolina; completed 4 years of high school; on Apr 1 1935 was living in the same place/town; rented home ($45.00/month rent); occupation: salesman, casket manufacturer.
Hinshaw, Cathryn, wife, age 39, born in Georgia; completed 4 years of high school; on Apr 1 1935 was living in the same place/town.
Hinshaw, Caroline, daughter, age 1, born in Georgia.

In 1972 Jack was living in/near Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia.4  

Jesse Vance Hinshaw died May 7 1972, Cobb County, Georgia; age 72.4,7  

In 1980 Kathryn was living in Kennesaw, Cobb County, Georgia.4,7  

Kathryn died Jan 11 1980, Fulton County, Georgia; age 81.4,7
