Adelaide Hinshaw Lakey
LEXINGTON - Adelaide Hinshaw Lakey, 69, of Mitchell Avenue, Lexington, died Sunday night, April 17, 2005, at Brian Center in Lexington. Mrs. Lakey was born Dec. 12, 1935, in Yadkin County to Hurley Monroe Hinshaw and Margaret Beddingfield Hinshaw. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Grady T. Lakey, on May 8, 1998. Surviving are a son, Thomas Hinshaw Lakey, and wife, Jacqueline, of Carolina Beach; a daughter, Melinda Margaret Leith, and husband, David, of Fairfax, Va.; granddaughter Parrish Adelaide Leith; and sister Sybil Hinshaw Barkley of Macon, Ga. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Harmony Grove Friends Cemetery in Yadkinville. Inurnment will follow. The family requests no flowers. Please direct any memorials to American Children's Home, P.O. Box 1288, Lexington, NC 27293. Arrangements are by Davidson Funeral Home of Lexington.
