On Sep 20 1943 Calvin Charlie Hinshaw, age 18, registered for the World War II draft in Alamance County, North Carolina.  He declared he was born Sept. 19 1925 in Alamance [County], North Carolina, and was then residing on Route 3, Liberty, Alamance County, occupied as a "Farm hand - on home place".  He declared his relative/contact was Mrs. V.D. Hinshaw of the same address.  He was recorded as 5'4" tall, 135 lbs., brown eyes, brown hair, ruddy complexion.5  

On Aug 16 1944 Calvin C. Hinshaw, born 1925 in North Carolina, enlisted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a private in the U.S. Army.  He declared he had a grammar school education, was single, without dependents, occupied as a farm hand.6  

He married Betty -1,7 [Lucy A. -8], Dec 25 19621,7, North Carolina1,7.  

Calvin and Betty divorced Jul 11 1995, Randolph County, North Carolina.7
