Horace earned an M.D. from Indiana University, interned at the Indiana University School of Medicine, and then went into the practice of general medicine.5
He married Carolyn Joan "Jody" Knipe, Aug 18 1951, Marion County, Indiana.5,7 Carolyn was born 1931.8
Horace and Carolyn were shown in the 1958 city directory of La Porte, Indiana:9

In 1959 Horace was living at 302 Seimetz Drive, La Porte, Indiana.6
Horace Dean Hinshaw, Jr. died Sep 16 1959, Robert Long Hospital, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana; age 30y 8m 4d.5,6
Horace died as a result of an accident.5 His death certificate recorded "fell in driveway of home from undetermined cause striking head on concrete surface".6
