Born Jun 17 1950, Lawrence County, Ohio.^2,3,4  Gary and brother Perry were twins.²  

He married Betty Perry, about 1970.^4,5  Betty, daughter of Bill + Irene Perry.⁴  

In 2004 Gary and Betty were living in Ironton, Ohio.⁵  

Gary Ray Hanshaw died Aug 15 2011, Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky; age 61.^3,4  

Gary's obituary was published as follows:⁴

Gary Ray Hanshaw, 61, of Pedro, passed away Monday (August 15, 2011) at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.  The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born June 17, 1950, the son of the late Lester and Amy Brammer Hanshaw.  He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty Perry Hanshaw.   Mr. Hanshaw was a 1968 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a U.S. Army Veteran.  He was a former employee for Sunoco Chemical and was a member of the Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church for 30 years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved watching his granddaughters play sports.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother: Rick Hanshaw a sister: Penny Hanshaw a niece: Misty Miller mother-in-law and father-in-law: Bill and Irene Perry In addition to his wife, he is survived by: son and daughter-in-law: Ryan and Amy Hanshaw of Kitts Hill 2 granddaughters who were the love of his life: Brooke and MaKenzie Hanshaw of Kitts Hill a brother: Perry Hanshaw of South Point sister and brother-in-law: Brenda and Tennyson Hall of Ironton sister: Kathy Hanshaw of Kitts Hill sister: Donna Thomas of Kitts Hill sisters-in-law: Cindy Depriest and her husband, Dean of Pedro, Connie Miller and her husband Mark of Pedro, and Mary Perry of Ironton a brother-in-law: Randy Perry and his wife, Tammi of Deering Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday (August 19, 2011) at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Rev. Charlie Green and Rev. Ronnie Blagg officiating.  Burial will follow in Etna Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from 6-9 PM at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Tom and Chris Hall, Nick Hanshaw, Andy Miller, Kip and Cody Perry, Jeff Morgan and Ryan Fradd.
