Levi was prominent in the affairs of state and country.  In 1810 he was a Justice of the Peace, and a member of the county court of Berkeley County, Virginia.132  In 1822, 1830, and 1831 he was a member of the House of Delegates of Virginia.132,133  In 1840 he was the sheriff of Berkeley County, Virginia.132,133

He married Nancy Davidson, May 18 1797, Mill Creek, Berkeley County, West Virginia.69,132,133,145,a,165,188  Nancy was born Mar 30 1770.132,165

Nancy died Dec 15 1804, Morgans Chapel, Bunker Hill, West Virginia.132,129,165

He then married Ann McConnell, May 1 1806, Mill Creek, Berkeley County, West Virginia.69,70,132,133,145,a,165,188  (Anna McConnell)b  (Apr 29 1806).b  Ann, daughter of William McConnel & Mary Cowan, was born Sep 18 1778.132,a,165

Levi was buried beside his father William, in the graveyard of the old Mill Creek Protestant Episcopal Church, about a mile down Mill Creek from his home (this church later became known as Christ's Protestant Episcopal Church, Bunker Hill, West Virginia).132
