Margaret Hanshaw, 84, of Overland Park, formerly of Liberal, Mo., died at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at Ashpord Place in Overland Park of a short illness.  

She was born March 8, 1920, in Burgess, to Bert and Jennie (Williams) Hitchcock.  

She married George Hanshaw on May 23, 1938, in Greenfield, Mo.  He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1974.  

She was a resident of Liberal for more than 50 years.  

She was a retired receptionist for Lamar Family Clinic and Dr. Swaringen's Office in Lamar, Mo.  

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Liberal, and a member of the Mt. Hope Chapter 74 Order of Eastern Star in Lamar.  

Survivors include one son, Jim Hanshaw of Liberal; one daughter, Linda Willis of Overland Park; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Fred, and Wayne; and three sisters, Zelma, Mary, and Mable.  

Services are set for 11 a.m., Monday, at the Konantz-Warden Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at the Memory Gardens in Lamar.  Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Konantz-Warden Funeral Home Chapel.  

Arrangements are under the direction of the Konantz-Warden Funeral Home in Lamar.
