Nicholas Henshaw

In 1789, at the age of 26, Nicholas left the Shenandoah valley and patented 255 acres of land in North Union township (then Readstone township), Fayette County, Pennsylvania. There he cleared a farm and lived there for the rest of his life.⁴

Note that Nicholas' brother Levi married Ann McConnell,^4,8,9 and his other brother Hiram married Mary McConnell^4,8,9,10,11 (sisters??). [and also: a James Henshaw married a Margaret McConnell in 1818].

Nicholas and family were shown in the 1790 census, Bullskin Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania:¹²

Nicholas Hanshaw was shown in the "Account Book" of Beesontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania on Aug 8, Aug 18, Sep 2,¹³ and Nov 2, 1795.¹⁴

Nicholas and family were again shown in the 1800 census, Union Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania:¹⁵

Nicholas Henshaw died Feb 23 1821, buried Laurel Hill Cemetery / First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Laurel Hills, near Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.^{1,4,5,6,17,20}

Nicholas had written his will Jan 5 1818; it was probated Mar 17 1821 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.² In his will he named:²
