SUMMERFIELD -- Mrs. Brenda Hinshaw, 68, of Summerfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2009, after a heroic and spirited battle with lung cancer. Many knew Brenda as "Honey", the name bestowed upon her by her grandson. Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Thursday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Pete Kunkle and Associate Pastor Wayne Branch officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Brenda was born in Greensboro, December 11, 1940. She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1957 and received her Brokers license in 1987. She was an amazing woman: amazing in her fight against cancer, an amazing wife, an amazing mother, an amazing friend. Honey touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Brenda had several careers though which she forged many everlasting friendships. She worked for JP Stevens in Greensboro, groomed poodles in her home, was a full time mom, and a retired Real Estate Broker.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Darrell Hinshaw; daughter, Denise Price, and husband Bobby, of Colfax; grandson, Spencer Price, the apple of her eye; step-father, Norman Alley, of Greensboro; sister, Loretta Mull and husband Jack, of Hickory; niece, Rhonda Baxter, nephew, Richard Sisk, and many wonderful friends, family and neighbors.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Lambeth- Troxler Funeral Service.

The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, technicians, and others who fought the battle along side Brenda. You are wonderful cheerleaders.
