On Dec 12 1940 Mesh G. Hinshaw, born 1920 in Virginia, then residing in Preble County, Ohio, enlisted at Fort Thomas Newport, Kentucky as a private in the U.S. Army Infantry. He declared he had three years of high school, was single, without dependents, and an automobile serviceman. He was recorded as 67" tall, 126 lbs.3
Meshack Griffith Hinshaw died May 30 1945, buried Mar 4 1949, Section B Site 3613-3, Alexandria National Cemetery, 1450 Wilkes Street, Alexandria, Virginia.4,6
