Gary and Joyce apparently divorced.  Joyce remarried to David Ray Park.⁵  

Gary Dean Hinshaw died Apr 19 2013, at his home, Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois; age 65.^3,4  

Gary's obituary was published in "The Pantagraph" (Bloomington, Illinois) on May 5, 2013:³

BLOOMINGTON -- Gary Hinshaw, 65, died at 3:05 p.m. April 19, 2013, at his home in Bloomington due to complications from diabetes.   In remembrance of Gary, friends may meet with his family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hudson Town Hall, Hudson, for a celebration of his life and to share memories.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Gary’s honor.  Cremation services are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington.   He was born Sept. 29, 1947, in Bloomington, son of Guy and Eileen Phelan Hinshaw of Hudson.  Both parents preceded him in death.   He is survived by his children, Joli Massaglia, Pekin, and Thad (Lynne) Hinshaw, Hudson; one brother, Vernon; one sister, Yvonne; and his long-time companion and business partner, Martha Warner, Altoona, Iowa.  Gary also had four grandchildren who loved their grandpa dearly.   He was a 1965 graduate of Normal Community High School and attended Illinois State University.   He married Joyce Marvin on June 24, 1966, in Hudson, where he farmed and operated Hinshaw Trucking.   In 1982, Gary moved to Alaska and lived there for four years.  Later he moved to Washington and Iowa, where he became involved in ranching and training of thoroughbred horses until his retirement in 2011.   You may view and leave online condolences at www.calvertmemorial.com.
