PANHANDLE (Spc) - Clark Oliver Hinshaw, 78, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in Groom Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Services are pending with Smith Funeral Home.
Hinshaw was born January 16, 1901 in Cicero, Ind. He married the former Vita Thompson on Dec. 21, 1924 in Iowa Park.
Hinshaw retired from the Panhandle Independent School District in 1977 after 50 years as maintenance supervisor.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Edwin of Panhandle; four daughters, Mrs. Olive Ruth Proffitt of Panhandle, Mrs. Joan Petts of Boulder, Colo., Mrs. Jean Kaufhold of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Mrs. Charlotte Rathjin of Lubbock; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Clark's funeral was reported in the "Borger News Herald" on Wednesday, July 25 1979:15
PANHANDLE - Funeral services for Clark Oliver Hinshaw, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, from the Panhandle Church of Christ where he was a member. Jim Wilson, minister, will officiate.
Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
He died at 1:30 a.m., Tuesday morning at Groom Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born at Cicero, Ind., Mr. Hinshaw moved to Panhandle in 1927 following his marriage to the former Vita Thompson at Iowa Park in 1924.
Survivors include his wife, one son, four daughters, 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
