Lillie's obituary was published as follows:⁷

Lillie J. Douglas, of Goose Creek, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, in the early morning hours of May 5.   She was a daughter of the late Mr. David C. Hanshaw and the late Mrs. Leora Spurlock Hanshaw.   Lillie was a homemaker and the mother of twelve wonderful children.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting and loved to make sure her family was well fed.  She was an excellent mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.   She was the widow of the late Laten H. Douglas and surviving are her six sons, William R. Deloach, and wife Ruth of North Charleston, Carl Deloach and wife Patricia of Middleburg, FL, Jarrell Deloach of Goose Creek, Kenneth Still of Madison, AL, Gilbert Douglas of Goose Creek and Gary Douglas of Goose Creek; four daughters, Ida Boyd of Summerville, Cathy Croucher and husband Michael of Matties, NE, Sandra Hammond and husband John of Hanahan and Martha Christy and husband John of Kannapolis, NC; one brother, John Henry Hanshaw of Michigan; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.   Mrs. Douglas was also preceded in death by one son, Steve Deloach; and one daughter, Mattie Douglas.
