Trudy's engagement was announced in the "Playground Daily News" (Fort Walton Beach, Florida) on Thursday morning, July 18, 1968:^b

Trudy Hinshaw To Wed Lt. Menza Mrs. Julia Grant Hinshaw of Valdosta announces the engagement of her daughter, Trudy Marsha, to Lt. Thomas Frank Menza, son of Lt. Col. Dominic Frank Menza (USAF Ret.) of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. Dominic Frank Menza of Shalimar.    Miss Hinshaw is also the daughter of Truman Marshall Hinshaw of Valdosta. Miss Hinshaw was graduated from Valdosta High School and attended Grady Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta.    She expects to be graduated in August from Valdosta State College. Lt. Menza was graduated from Sacred Heart High School at Sedalia, Mo., attended the University of New Mexico and was graduated from the United States Air Force Academy.    He is a student pilot at Moody Air Force Base and expects to be graduated from pilot training in August. The wedding will take place on August 31 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Valdosta.
