The Bloomington "Pantagraph" published a special "Election 2001" feature which included:6
Heyworth to elect 5 board trustees
HEYWORTH -- The race for village trustee in Heyworth could be a tight one with five candidates seeking three seats for four-year terms and four others seeking to fill a pair of two-year unexpired terms.
Among those seeking the four-year seats are two incumbents, Patrick Schlehuber and Edward Heitzman, one former board member in Randy Eilts, and longtime Village Clerk Carl Hinshaw.
...
Hinshaw, 46, has been Heyworth's village clerk for the past eight years and before that served a brief unexpired term from 1992 to 1993.
Hinshaw said he is running for a trustee seat "basically because I want to be able to vote again. As village clerk you don't vote and that's kind of tough."
Among his ideas for development, Hinshaw said he is committed to bringing a pharmacy to Heyworth and also would like to find a doctor or dentist willing to locate in the village.
"Heyworth has grown in population and we need to bring commercial growth, too," Hinshaw said.
A native of Heyworth, Hinshaw is employed as a real estate agent with Brady-Weaver GMAC in Bloomington. He and his wife, Lisa, have a daughter.
