He married Dorcas -, about 1818.¹⁰²    Dorcas was born about 1800.¹⁰²

Dorcas died about 1835.¹⁰²

In 1835 Jesse Hindshaw [sic] was shown in a Delinquint Tax List in Barry County, Missouri.^d

He then married Nancy Miller, Dec 26 1836, Van Buren (now Cass) County, Missouri.^{74,102,e,f,g,h}    Nancy was born in 1820, Kentucky.^102,a,c

There is some folklore that Nancy Miller was half Choctaw Indian, but there are no facts in support of this folklore.ⁱ    Some believe Nancy was the daughter of Joseph Miller & Margaret Hamilton.^j    Another belief is that she might have been the daughter of a Jacob Miller.^j

In 1836 Jesse Hinshaw was shown in a list of Grand Jury members in Cass County, Missouri.^k

Jesse and family moved to Texas sometime before 1846.    In the Republic of Texas Poll List of 1846, Jesse Henshaw was shown living in Henderson County, Texas.^l    There was also a J. Hinshaw shown living in Hunt County, Texas.^l

Jesse and family were shown in the 1850 census (Oct 21 1850), Smith County, Texas:^a,m

The widow "Nancy Hinshaw" was shown in the 1880 census (Jun 1 1880), Llano County, Texas, living in the household of her daughter Jessie Emeline Walker:^o,p

Nancy died 1884, Llano County, Texas.^102,i
