Walker, James J., son. age 11 months, born Jul 1880 in Texas; parents born in Texas.
Hinshaw, Nancy, mother, age 60, born in Kentucky; parents born in Texas; widow.
Living next door was Jessie's sister Marthana Masters and family.6  Living nearby was Jessie's brother George.7  

Jessie was Quaker, and dressed in plain, black clothing.8  

One of Jessie's grandsons described her hearth seething with the sugary smell of sweet potatoes.  He said she would reach into the coals and pull one bursting with brown caramel and say, "Would you like to have one of Grandma's sweet potatoes?".  Once when witnessing a hurried cleaning of a child's dirty face with a cold wash cloth, he said, "You know I used to hate the way Ma would take a cold rag and just screw my face off like that.  My grandmother would go to the wood stove and dip her cloth in a pan of warm water.  Then she would take the soft cloth and gently wash my face."8

Living next door in 1920 was the family of son Robert Lee Walker.10  

Emeline and Joel were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 16 1930), Fisher County, Texas:11

Walker, Joel M., head-of-household, age 83, born in Texas; father born in Tennessee; mother born in Missouri; first married at age 27; owned home; radio in home; occupation: farmer, general farm; not a veteran.
Walker, Jessie E., wife, age 73, born in Texas; father born in Tennessee; mother born in Kentucky; first married at age 16.
Living next door (or perhaps on the same farm) was the family of son Fred;12 one more household away was the family of son Robert.13  

Jessie Emeline Hinshaw died Dec 8 1932, on the family farm, near Fisher, Fisher County, Texas; buried Dec 9 1932, Roscoe Cemetery, Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas.1,3,4  

Joel died May 16 1946, Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas.4
