The following obituary appeared in the "Peoria Journal Star" on Tuesday, August 9, 1994:1
Hazel B. Freeze, 70, of Peoria died at 7:08 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 1994, at Methodist Medical Center. Born April 24, 1924, in Bloomington to Bert and Dessa Lee Praither Hinshaw, she married Melvin Lee Freeze in 1944 in Peoria. He died in 1982. She also was preceded in death by one brother. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bradley (Cindy) Dornon of East Peoria and Mrs. Raymond (Sandra) Shearer of East Peoria; one son, Eddie Lee of New Jersey; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Helen E. VanDusen and Harriet B. Sheppard, both of Peoria; and one brother, Donald Lee Hinshaw of Peoria. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Peoria Chapter. Services will be at 8:30 tonight at Cumerford-Endsley Memorial Home. Chaplain William Nielsen will officiate. Visitation will be two hours before services at the memorial home. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles will conduct a service at 8 tonight at the memorial home. Committal services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at American Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
