George was adopted by Ira and Margaret Hinshaw in 1952.³  

In 1989 George was living in Winter Park, Florida.¹  

George Lee Hinshaw died Apr 25 2010, at his home, Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois; age 63.⁴  

George's obituary was published in the "Journal Star" (Peoria, Illinois) on April 28, 2010:⁴

Hinshaw Sr., George PEORIA - George L. Hinshaw Sr., 63, of Peoria passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010, at his home.   He was born on Jan. 21, 1947, in Peoria.   George was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Margaret Hinshaw; and two daughters, Amy and Margaret.   He is survived by his mother, Elaine Cote of Florida; three children, Shari (Jerry) Walters of Center Point, Iowa, George (Wanda) Hinshaw Jr. of Vinton, Iowa, and Buffy Kohtz of Peoria; three brothers, Dale and Al Cote, both of Florida, and Joe Cote of South Carolina; and a sister, Dixie (Gary) Plank of South Carolina.  He also is survived by nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.   Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.   Memorials may be made to the family, c/o Buffy Kohtz, 712 Vine St., Peoria, IL 61603.   The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois, Pekin/Peoria, is assisting the family with arrangements.   Online condolences may be made at www.csmico.com.
