Clarence was a World War I veteran.6  On Jun 5 1917 Clarence Hanshue, age 23, registered for the World War I draft in Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana.  He declared he was born Jun 29 1894 in Union Deposit, Pennsylvania, and was then residing at 721 4th Ave. S.W., Great Falls, Montana where he was single and a machinist helper employed by the Great Northern R.R. in Great Falls.  He claimed an exemption due to "not physically fit".  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, gray eyes, brown hair.2  

He married Jean E. -, about 1924.6  Jean was born Aug 10 1894, Bussum, Holland.5,6,7  

Clarence and Jean were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 15 1930), 134 N. 28th Street, Penbrook, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania:6

Hanshue, Clarence, head-of-household, age 36, born in Pennsylvania; parents born in Pennsylvania; first married at age 30; rented home ($35.00 rent); radio in home; occupation: electrician, steel mill; World War I veteran.
Hanshue, Jean E., wife, age 36, born in Holland; parents born in Holland; immigrated 1915, naturalized; first married at age 30; occupation: presser, dry cleaning.

One Sep 27 1936 Jean arrived at the Port of New York on the S.S. Statendam, having sailed from Rotterdam, The Netherlands on Sep 19 1936:7

Hanshue, Jean E., age 42, married, housewife, citizen of Holland; born in Bussum, Holland; visa issued Apr 16 1936; residence: Hummelstown, Pennsylvania.

Jean died May - 1975.5  

On Apr 25 1942 Clarence Hanshue, age 47, registered for the World War II draft in Frederick County, Maryland.  He declared he was born June 29 1894 in Union Deposit, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, and was then residing at 2530 Garrett Ave., Baltimore, Maryland, employed by the Bethlehem Steel Company in Sparrows Point, Maryland.  He declared his relative/contact was "Mis gean" Hanshue of the same address.  He was recorded as 5'6" tall, 155 lbs., blue eyes, gray hair, light complexion.4  

In 1976 Clarence was living in/near Baltimore, Maryland.5  

Clarence Hanshue died Oct - 1976.5
