Tracy Nicole (Emery) Henshaw, 39, passed away September 20, 2014 in Oklahoma City, OK after a long and courageous battle against cancer. She was born in Topeka, Kansas June 27, 1975, the daughter of Gary Emery and Molly (Mynatt) Emery of Norman, OK. Her grandparents were Benjamin and Betty Emery of Lecompton, KS and Irvin and Helen Mynatt of Salina, KS.
She is survived by her husband of 9 years, Michael T. Henshaw of Oklahoma City; her children, Kylie Simmons, 14, and Peyton Henshaw, 7; her parents; her paternal grandmother and her siblings Elizabeth (Emery) Stacey and her husband Daniel of Norman and Rebecca (Emery) Foreman and her husband Raymon also of Norman; her nieces and nephews, Allison Stacey, Emily Stacey, Parker Foreman, Elizabeth Foreman, Timothy Foreman, Benjamin Foreman, and Molly Foreman.
Tracy Henshaw lived briefly in Topeka, KS, St. Louis, MO, and Bloomington, IN but spent most of her life in Norman where she graduated from Norman High School. She attended Abilene Christian University and completed the travel agent program at the Moore-Norman Technology Center. She was employed by the Prime Time Travel agency in Edmond, OK first as an agent and later as the office manager. Tracy traveled in China and Europe and lived in Japan where she developed a lasting interest in Japanese culture. She was recognized as an expert on cruise lines and Walt Disney World and enjoyed planning cruises and Disney vacations for extended families. Above all, Tracy was a devoted mother who spent every free moment with her daughters, even during her illness. She gave them all a mother can give and provided them with an example of exceptional courage and determination in the face of extreme adversity.
Friends may visit with the family and offer their condolences from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 in the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorials contributions may be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center at www.mdanderson.org, "How You Can Help".
