Smoot Hoopster Signed Ben Williams, director of Charleston School of Commerce, announced the granting of two-year scholarships to Dwight Douglas Henshew [sic], a 1963 graduate of Smoot High School.
Dwight is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray H. Hanshew of Springdale, West Virginia. He is 6' 2" tall and weighs 162 lbs. Dwight averaged 14 points per game during two years of high school competition in basketball. He was secretary of his class in his senior year and was a member of the junior play cast. Dwight was very active in his school activities.
He married Frances Louise Corbett, Dec 13 1964, Emmanual Methodist Church, White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.2 Frances, daughter of Ira Corbett.2
Dwight's wedding was noted in the "Post Herald and Register" (Beckley, West Virginia) on Sunday, December 20, 1964.2
