He married Nadine E. Snyder.^1,7 Nadine, daughter of Fred Snyder & Ethel Ellenwine, was born Nov 14 1917, Three Oaks, Michigan.^7,8

Levi and family were shown in the 1938 city directory of Michigan City, Indiana:¹

On Nov 17 1944 Levi L. Hinshaw, born 1916 in Illinois, then a resident of Illinois, enlisted at Indianapolis, Indiana as a private in the U.S. Army. He declared he had 3 years of high school and was then married.⁹ Levi served in the U.S. Army from Nov 17 1944 to Oct 27 1946.⁶

Levi's obituary was published in the "Michigan City News Dispatch" (Michigan City, Indiana) on April 22, 1985 (page 12 column 1).¹⁰

Nadine died Feb 11 2015, at her home, Michigan City, LaPorte County, Indiana; age 97.^7,8
