October 12, 1941 - June 1, 2009A retired employee with the East Baton Rouge Parish school system, she died Monday, June 1, 2009, at the Butterfly Wing with Hospice of Baton Rouge at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. She was 67, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of North St. Paul, Minn. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home chapel, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, June 4, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Ben Bahr, pastor. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband, Ragan J. Hinshaw; daughter, Kelly Borland and husband David; son, Taylor Hinshaw; and grandson, Will Borland. Preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Viviane Waskow; sister, Dianne Whaley; and brother, Doug Waskow. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Altrussa. Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia Foundation, 8738 Quarters Lake Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.

Ragan J. Hinshaw, a native of Omaha, NE and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the age of 74. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and David Borland; son, Taylor Hinshaw; and grandson, Will Borland. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Hinshaw; and parents, Lynn and Betty Hinshaw. Ragan received his Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in Chemistry before working as a Salesman in the Chemical Industry for 40 years. He was a Master in Bridge and a volunteer at Charlie's Place. A private burial will take place at a later date. Resthaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
