A Celebration of Life for Audrey Monette, 54, of Hobbs, New Mexico, formally of Halliday, North Dakota will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Pastor Irven Brunges officiating. Public Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Audrey passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Audrey Faye Hinshaw was born December 10, 1955 in Bismarck, North Dakota, the daughter of Glenn and Emma (Fandrich) Hinshaw. She grew up on the family farm near Halliday. She attended school in town graduating from Halliday High School in 1974. Audrey went on to attend college in Bismarck. After receiving her degree, she worked for Farmers Union Insurance and the Internal Revenue Service in Bismarck. It was during her time working for the United States Forest Service that she met, Mark Monette. The couple was united in marriage on September 4, 1982 at the United Methodist Church. To this union two children were born, Nathan and Kaitlin. The family lived in various states over the years including, Washington, Missouri, Colorado and most recently, Hobbs, New Mexico. Audrey loved life and her family. She enjoyed her annual trips to North Dakota each summer. Working in the yard, taking care of her plants inside and outside her home as well as at work, brought her great joy. Audrey loved her office luncheons and parties at Vista Care Hospice tremendously. Knowing there was going to be good food at these functions made her day. She was a great lady with a Happy-Go-Lucky attitude and dearly loved her puppies Bella, Bailee and Jasmine who passed in May of 2008 and who very special to the whole family. Audrey is survived by her husband, Mark; one son, Nathan Monette; one daughter, Kaitlin Monette (Ryan); her parents, Glenn and Emma Hinshaw; two sisters, Mary (Gary) Lukach and Sharon (Melvin) Schuh; special friend, Debb Stroh; great-nephew Camren and great-niece JuliAnn; Marks family: mother, Edith Monette, sisters, Laura (Lyle) Ladouceur and children Tony and Leah, Jeannie (Mike) Parsons and son Jake; Diane (Ron) Binning and daughters Shawna, Lindsey and Brandi; Ruthie (Jeff) Sorenson and children Shane and Anna. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orla and Echo Hinshaw and Benjamin and Mary Fandrich and one niece, Cheryl Naomi Schuh; uncles, Ivan, Orris, Norman, Emil, Aunt, Margaret; father-in-law Dickie Monette Audreys family prefers memorials to Dogs Deserve Better NM, PO Box 1645, Hobbs, NM 88241
