Born 1795, near Stafford Hall, Cecil County, Maryland.^1,2,4,5  

John served in the War of 1812 in James Mallory's Company of Riflemen, Virginia Militia, belonging to the detachment commanded by Colonel John H. Cocke.  John served from Mar 25 1813 to Aug 22 1813 at Camp Randolph, Virginia.¹  

He married Mary Barley, Feb 24 1814, Rockingham County, Virginia.^1,2,5,6  Mary, daughter of James Barley & Sarah Wiseman, was born Nov 15 1789, Rockingham County, Virginia.^1,5  

Mary died Jan 15 1825, Logan County, Kentucky; buried Bibbs Chapel Cemetery, Logan County, Kentucky.⁵  

He then married Edith "Eady" Edwards, Aug 9 1826, Logan County, Kentucky.²  

John was shown in the 1850 census (Aug 30 1850), living alone in Logan County, Kentucky:⁴

John T. Hinchee died after 1858, Kentucky.¹
