Born about 18851 [about 18832], Virginia1.  

Belle had a son, Robert Criger, born c1903,2,3,4 fathered by Mr. Criger, husband of Belle's sister, Sarah.  Belle left Virginia in disgrace, but she left her son to be raised by her sister Cannie and her husband, Robert Hill (he apparently assumed the Hill surname as he was shown in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 censuses as "Robert Hill").  Robert Criger later joined his mother Belle in Topeka, Kansas.5  

In 1909 Belle left Virginia, first settling in Illinois, then in Kansas.5  On Jan 21 1912 Belle wrote a letter from her home at 400 East 4th Street, Topeka, Kansas to her parents in Virginia, excerpted here:6

I will send you a card how are you all By this time I am not no better I hope you all are well and doing well.

Belle was shown in the 1920 census, living in a rooming house at 612 Monroe Street, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas:1

Murphy, Elizabeth, wife, age 40, born in Kansas; father born in Missouri [unclear]; mother born in Illinois.
Murphy, Glyds [unclear], daughter, age 15, born in Kansas; father born in Illinois; mother born in Kansas; attended school.
Henshaw, Bell, roomer, age 35, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; single; [..occupation unclear..].

She married - Good, after 1920.2

Belle was again shown in the 1930 census (Apr 14 1930), living with son Robert (Criger) Hill at 2718 Minnesota Street, Highland Park, Topeka Township, Shawnee County, Kansas:2

Good, Bell, head-of-household, age 47, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; widow; first married at age 18; owned home ($4500 value); radio in home; occupation: none.
Hill, Robert, son, age 26, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; single; occupation: laborer, farm; not a veteran.
