In 1932, the West Union Friends Meeting celebrated its 100-year anniversary. As part of a fund raiser, the ladies of West Union made a large quilt upon which was embroidered the names of members who purchased spots on the quilt for 10 cents per name (see: http://www.rootsweb.com/~inmchaga/namequi2.html ). The West Union "Name Quilt" contains the names of Joseph Hinshaw and his wife Edna Hinshaw, their daughter Charlotte Hinshaw, Ira Hinshaw and his wife Helen Hinshaw, and Philip Hinshaw.9
