He married Harriet C. Garner, Apr 5 1882, Jackson County, Alabama.^e,60    (Harrett C. Garner)^76,f    (Hettie C. Garner)^d    (Margaret C. Garner)^c    William and Harriet were married by S.G. Grimmitt, Justice of the Peace^f,c (marriage book page 120),^c the marriage occuring at the home of Harriet's stepfather, George Reed.^f    Witnesses were S.G. Grimmitt, J.P. and an unidentified William H. Henshaw.^f    Although the marriage license shows her name as "Harrett",^f her name was correctly Harriet^g (one marriage record abstract even mis-read her name from the record book and indexed her, incorrectly, as Margaret C. Garner).^c

Harriet was born Feb 13 1866, Tennessee.^b    (Alabama).^d

William and family were shown in the 1900 census (Jun 5 1900), Wynnewood, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (now Garvin County, Oklahoma):^d

Harriet died Apr 9 1904, Oklahoma (Indian Territory); buried Erin Springs Cemetery, Garvin County, Oklahoma.^b

William and Harriet's orphaned daughters Ethel and Esther lived with (and apparently were raised by) William's sister Mary.^h
