On Sep 12 1918 Ira Elmer Hinshaw, age 34, registered for the World War I draft in Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois. He declared he was born February 13th 1884, and was then residing in Danvers, McLean County, Illinois where he was a self-employed farmer. He declared his nearest relative was Effie Hinshaw of Danvers. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, black hair.9

Ira Elmer Hinshaw died Feb 21 1935, Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois; buried Stout's Grove Cemetery, McLean County, Illinois.2,6,7,8,12 Medical: Ira died from pneumonia (after walking the streets looking for a job during the Depression).13
After Ira's death, Effie remarried to Alet Johnston in 1942.4
Effie died Dec 30 1962, buried Stout's Grove Cemetery, McLean County, Illinois.2,6,7,8
