Born Feb 8 1837⁷ [May 22 1848^2,7,8, about 1843⁹, about 1846¹⁰], Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland⁷.  Christened May 20 1840, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.⁷  

Thomas was an early pioneer at Piedmont, Uinta County, Wyoming, building a cabin there in 1875.¹¹  Piedmont is today a ghost town.¹¹  

Thomas was shown in the 1870 census (Jul 18 1870), Byrne's Camp, Uinta County, Wyoming Territory:⁹

Thomas was shown in the 1880 census (Jun 11 1880), boarding in the house of Moses Byrne, "Muddy Creek, south of Piedmont", Uinta County, Wyoming Territory:¹⁰

He married Alice Byrne, Sep 25 1881, Piedmont, Uinta County, Wyoming.^8,12,13  Alice, daughter of Moses Byrne & Catherine Cardon, was born Oct 18 1860, Slaterville, Wever County, Utah.^{2,3,4,5,8,13,14}  

The marriage record shows Thomas was age 35, and Alice was age 21, at the time of their marriage.¹²  

Alice's father, Moses Byrne, founded the town of Piedmont in 1866.  The Moses Byrne family lived next door to Thomas.¹¹  See: http://www.prospector-utah.com/pied.htm

Thomas Hinshaw died Jul 12 1893, Piedmont, Uinta County, Wyoming; age 45.^2,7,15
