Vira died Sep 13 1944, Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio.1,19
Vira's obituary was published in Ironton, Ohio on Sep 14 194420 and on Sep 17 1944.20
In 1960 Henry was living in Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio.21
Henry R. Hanshaw died Aug 2 1960, Penal Institution, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio; age 65.1,7,11,19,21
According to family folklore, Henry died in an Ohio prison for the murder of his wife, Vira Alice Pennington.22 This seems to be confirmed by his death record showing that he died in a "penal institution".19
