She married Edwin "Dink" Bivens4 [Walter E. "Dink" Bivens5,6,7], Jun 19 19374, Alamance County, North Carolina4.  Edwin, son of Charles W. Bivens & Beulah Welch, was born May 16 1920, Danville, Virginia.8,9,10

Susan Bivens; married Ron Thomas.

In 1999-2007 Argie was residing in Burlington, North Carolina.6,11  

Edwin died Apr 3 2010, Hospice Home of Burlington, Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina; age 89.9,10,12  

Dink's obituary was published in the "Fayetteville Observer" (Fayetteville, North Carolina) on April 5, 2010:10

Walter E. Bivens BURLINGTON - Walter E. "Dink" Bivens, 89, of 1335 S. Main St., died Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Hospice Home of Burlington after a year of failing health.  

A native of Danville, Va., he was the husband of his beloved wife of 72 years, Argie Hinshaw Bivens, who survives, and the son of Charles W. Bivens and Beulah Welch Bivens, both deceased.  Mr. Bivens retired in 1982 after serving as the superintendent of maintenance for the city of Burlington for many years.  He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and served during World War II.  He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church where he was the teacher of the Bivens Sunday school class for more than 50 years.  Mr. Bivens was a life member of the United Methodist Women and was a member of Beulah Masonic Lodge 409 A.F and A.M.  

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Ellen Dodson of Burlington, and Susan Thomas and husband Ron of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Johnny "J.D." Dodson and wife Denise of Burlington, Stephanie Mullen of Raleigh, Walter Lockamy and wife Jacqueline of Kernersville, and Carrie Thomas of Raleigh; and six great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Bivens; and a sister, Evelyn Ragland.  

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neal Salter officiating.  Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Monday, April 5, 2010, at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington, and at other times will be at the home.  

The family would like to thank the nurses of hospice, especially Phoebe Jones Cole, for the special care given to Mr. Bivens.
