Shortly after Olive was married, her father moved his family "out west" to work in the oil fields of Texas. He was successful and so urged Olive and Arthur to follow. So Olive and Arthur moved from Friendship, New York to Ranger, Texas, sometime between the birth of their son Forest in 1918 and the birth of daughter Doris in 1920.2
