Dessie H. Martin Dessie H. Martin, 96, of South Charleston, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Ravenswood Care Center.
She was born at Grannies Creek, a daughter of the late Cornwall Wallace and Inez Clementine Hill Hanshaw. She was a seamstress in Charleston and a Baptist.
She is survived by one son, Bob Russell of Clover; and two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Russell; three sisters, Gertie and Audra Hanshaw and Emma Cook; and three brothers, Iva, Dallas and Ray Hanshaw.
Service is today (Thursday) at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with Pastor Smith Epling officiating. Burial is in Wallback Cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
