Ethel's obituary was published in the Loveland Reporter Herald on Monday April 23, 2001 (page b-3):
Ethel Louise Cuney, 90, of Brighton, formerly of Loveland, died April 21, 2001, at The Glenn Assisted Living in Brighton. She was born Aug. 20, 1910 in Laird, Colo., to Ed and Alma Leveille Hanshaw. She graduated from Laird High School and married John Cuney Jan. 13, 1929 in Holyoke. He preceded her in death in 1981. She lived in Wray until 1948, then moved to Loveland. She later lived in Wiggins, Fort Collins, Broomfield and Brighton. She was a benefits administrator at Colorado State University, retiring in 1975. She was a pianist for the Senior Harmonettes in Fort Collins and a member of the Christian Church of Broomfield. She is survived by her son, Jac Cuney of Brighton; daughters Jean Brown of Lakewood and June Romer of Broomfield, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Welp, Hattie Dimmick and Clara Hanshaw. A funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richar Bussman officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Church of Broomfield Building Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. olive St., Fort Collins, 80524.
