John was a "bookbinder".^d    On Feb 25 1729 John's book shop was mentioned in Benjamin Franklin's "Pennsylvania Gazette":^b

Hyndshaw, John, whose shop is in Market St., opposite to the Presbyterian Meeting-house in Phila. - sells books and stationery and binds books.

Hyndshaw, John, at the Sign of the Two Bibles in Market St., over against the Presbyterian Meeting-house in Phila. - binds and sells books.

On September 18, 1732, John was a witness to the will of John Mitchell of Cossiam, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.^e

On July 4, 1733, John was a bondsman to the will of John Drummond, Earl of Melfort.^f

On November 6, 1733, John was a witness to the will of David Griffin of Wallpack, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.^d

On November 30, 1741, John was a bondsman for the will of Elizabeth Allen of Essex County, New Jersey.^d

In 1786 John is shown in the Federal Tax List of Allen Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania:^c
