Born 10-23-1758, Orange County, North Carolina.1,2  

She married William Hinshaw, 12-19-1781, Rocky River Meeting House, North Carolina.2,3,4,5,6  William Hinshaw, son of William Hinshaw & Mary Courtney, was born Ireland.2,7  

Note that Rachel's sister Mary had married William's brother John Hinshaw ten months earlier in 1781.  

Three Martin sisters married Hinshaws:

Rachel married William Hinshaw
Rachel's sister Mary married William's brother John Hinshaw
Rachel's sister Sarah married William's first cousin Jacob Hinshaw

Rachel Martin died May 17 1849.  At Center MM on 3-17-1849, Rachel's death was reported.2  

William died in North Carolina.8
