He married Martha Jane Hinshaw, Jul 26 1866, Grainger County, Tennessee.1,2  Martha Jane Hinshaw, daughter of John Hinshaw & Nancy Coffey, was born Sep 20 1848.2  

Note that John's sister, Mary Ann Fennell, married Martha's first cousin once removed George Hinshaw.
