Nathan was the brother of Mary Barker who married Milicent's brother Thomas, and of Simeon Barker who married Milicent's sister Ruth. The three Hinshaw siblings married three Barker siblings. In addition, Milicent's brother Jacob married Elizabeth then Huldah Barker (sisters), cousins of Milicent's husband Nathan Barker.4
