Born May 10 1842, Larkin, Jackson County, Alabama.^{2,6,8,9,11,12,13}  

During the Civil War Albert served as a private in Company I, 55th Alabama Volunteer Infantry.^11,14,15  He enlisted on Nov 29 1862 at Bellefonte, Alabama^15,16 (Scottsboro, Alabama).¹¹  This was the same date and place where Newton Hinshaw also enlisted in the same unit.¹⁵  Albert served until he beacme sick and was discharged from the hospital by the Board of Physicians at Montgomery, Alabama in 1865.^11,16  Albert later filed for a pension in Jackson County, Alabama.¹⁴  

He married Eliza Catherine Counts^1,2,17,18 [Elizabeth C. Counts¹⁹, Liza Kathrine County²⁰, Lilah C. Counts⁸], Aug 6 1868^1,2,17,18, Jackson County, Alabama^1,2,17,18.  Eliza, daughter of Andrew Jackson Counts & Elizabeth J. "Eliza" Hardin^2,3,7,21, was born Apr 14 1851^2,3,7,21 [Apr - 1852⁶, about 1853⁸], Jackson County, Alabama^2,3,7,21 [Tennessee²⁰].
