Dortha's obituary appeared in "The Sturgis New", Sturgis, Union County, Kentucky on Wednesday, November 4, 1998 (No. 43. page 2) as follows:

Dortha J. Quirey, 72, of Sullivan, died at her home on Friday, Oct. 23, at 11:40am.  

She was preceded in death by her husband James M. Quirey in 1997.  

Survivors include three sisters, Charlotte Dyer of Sturgis, Sondra Baird of Morganfield, and Bettye Johnson of Mayfield; Two brothers, William T. Henshaw of Birmingham, AL., and James A. Henshaw of Avenue, MD; Several nieces and nephews.  

Services were Sunday, Oct. 25 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Jim Lane officiating, burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery.  

Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.  Mrs. Quirey was a member of the Henshaw Christian Church.  She was born Nov. 2, to John B. Henshaw and Anna L. Huckeby.

SULLIVAN, Ky. --
Dortha J. Quirey, 72, died Friday morning at home.  She was a member of Henshaw Christian Church.  Surviving are three sisters, Charlotte Dyer of Sturgis, Sondra Baird of Morganfield and Bettye Jetton of Mayfield; two brothers, William T. Henshaw of Birmingham, Ala., and James A. Henshaw of Avenue, Md; and nieces and nephews.  Her husband, James M., died in 1997.  Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Whitsell Funeral Home Sturgis Chapel, with burial in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.  Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to service time Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Hospice.
